Prevent your dog getting H1N1 (Swine Flu)

First of all, your dogs should get away with other group of dogs under this circumstance. If it can’t avoid go out, the owner has to clean their dog thoroughly after coming from outside. At first, the dogs should hash away in the first before combing hair, stuff their ears with cotton. We should not use irritating cleaning products. Dogs should take mild shampoo to wash its head. It is necessary to prevent the dog's mouth, nose, eyes and ears into the water and excitement. The dog needs the warm water and washing thoroughly! Cleaning on its limbs, body, tail and the head. Repeat this step once and then wash. Finally, the dog is rinsed with clean warm water and let it shake off the water. Use towel to dry it with and also using hairdryer to dry the body. Using the comb to comb dog hair, we remove the cotton ear plug to dog-ear hair pulling extra clean to avoid smell. After drying its body, we can give it a soft dog cloth to keep its body warm. It is a basic step to prevent your dog from any disease, especially H1N1 (Swine Flu).

What can we do if my dog gets H1N1 (Swine Flu)?

The outbreak of the H1N1 (swine flu) not only alarms people, but also remind us how the virus will affect our lovely dogs. The name of H1N1 is swine flu (influenza virus). It is a human-to-human disease at this time. This virus has genetic elements from the pig influenza virus. This disease in pigs has been confirmed in the current outbreak.

Up to date, there is no evidence of transmission of this virus from dogs to people. It is not a single reported case of human infection with influenza virus. However, human infections with new influenza viruses would be concerning if they occurred. The influenza viruses are changing all the time. It is possible for a virus to change so that it could infect humans and spread easily between humans and pets, especially dogs.

If your dog is getting influenza, you are better to contact your veterinarian directly for an examination and to discuss any questions. The virus’s impact on animals is unknown. It emphasizes that there is no impact on dogs to be appeared, leaving dogs at a low risk of catching the H1N1 flu.
